APRIL PLAYER'S OF THE MONTH
14-1's: Jasmine Richardson
Jasmine has transitioned from a defensive specialist to a setter this season and she has done a great job running the offense. She has learned to run serve receive and free ball plays with confidence and is learning to be a leader on the court. Jasmine has been pushed to be an aggressive player on the court and make good setting decisions. She continues to get better at attacking the ball at the net as she gains confidence with her setting abilities.
Keep being a leader and making your hitters look good!
15-1's: Megan Dahl
Megan has been waiting for the chance to prove to everyone that she can compete at the highest level and make plays for her team. She did just that at the Northern Lights Qualifier with her consistent hitting on the outside. Megan has been working on her serve receive passing and has developed into one of the best passers on the team. We have become very confident in her abilities both on and off the court. She has a great deal of determination and she doesn't hold anything back. Megan has been extremely coachable this year and is now using everything she has been taught to be a player that her team can count on.
Thank you Megan for being coachable and always striving to become better!
17-1's: Jordyn Wentland
As a result of her work ethic, Jordyn has become one of the best setters in the 17's division that we've seen this year. She has stepped up for her team by calling her own plays on serve receive and deciding what free ball plays are working best throughout the match. Her coaches have so much confidence in her ability to run the offense that they can think of a play to run and Jordyn will run it without needing to be told to do so. She knows the abilities of her hitters and that of the defense and she is very good at singling them up to give her hitters the best opportunity to terminate the ball. As a captain, her teammates have learned to trust her are confident that she will do her best to lead the team regardless of the score.
You're a great leader, keep working hard!
18-1's: Tiana Saylor
The confidence that Tiana has brought to the court this past month is what we've been looking to see from her all season. She has been doing a great job at getting in position and attacking the ball from anywhere on the court. She is also getting better at the ability to hit different shots around the block. After many practices of trying to perfect her jump serve, she has finally done so, and it is very tough for opponents to pass. We're proud of Tiana for her focus on the court and her ability to make plays.
Keep challenging yourself to bocome better every second you're on the court!
MARCH PLAYER'S OF THE MONTH
13-1's: Sydney Miller
Sydney has been our go to player this year and she has done a great job making plays for our team. She is self-driven and motivated to make a great play every time she touches the ball. She has a great attitude on and off the court and she maintains her composure when she makes mistakes. She plays her hardest every second that she's on the court and it's easy to see when watching her, just how much she loves this game.
Thank you Sydney for being a positive influence on the team!
14-1's: Hannah Fitzer
Hannah has been working hard all season to be a strong middle hitter and she is starting to demonstrate her dominance on the court. She has the ability to run several different attacks and hit the ball around the block. During the last power league at Northern Lights, Hannah was a wall at the net as she recorded 7 solo blocks. She has also developed a very aggressive and consistent serve that has made it hard for opponents to run their offense. Hannah has become a smarter hitter and she continues to get better every day.
Keep playing aggressive Hannah!

Thanks Sierra for always trying to make a play!

Serena has played multiple positions this year and has excelled in both the front row and back row. She has played outside hitter the majority of the season and has shown success with her ability to hit the ball around the block. Serena has proven to have the best ball control on the team and is now receiving time in the libero position. Thanks Kayla for the positive attitude you bring to the court!

13-1's: Ellen Anderson
Ellen has distinguished herself during the last month by her dedication, effort and consistency. She has shown her dedication by learning a variety of different positions. We love her ability to be versatile and try everything, even if she doesn't feel fully confident. She always puts 110% into everything she does in practice and in games, and that's all we could ever ask for. She tries to get to every ball when she is on the court and she has worked deliberately to learn to get her overhand serve working. We have seen great improvements in her over the last few months, that we truly believe that she is going to be an amazing player.
Thank you Ellen for your hard work and positive attitude!

She has a jump serve that continues to amaze us coaches every time we see it and she has an array of shots when attacking at the net. Hope is a leader on the team and she has been great at encouraging her teammates to play their best every second they’re on the court. We have enjoyed helping Hope understand the game of volleyball and are looking forward to her continued success.
You're Awesome Hope!

Rylie has been one of our most consistent passers and hitters all season. She has done well at being able to mentally focus on her responsibilities and playing her best when her team is playing well and when they're struggling. We love the fact that she is a very coachable player and is able to listen to what we tell her and perform on the court.
Thanks Rylie for your effort on the court!
17-1's: Heather Schiller
Heather has demonstrated dedication, consistency and leadership. It's hard to tell that she's only a sophomore by the way she plays on the court. Heather has the ability to take control of a match at the net and at the service line. Heather has established herself as a go to hitter and she works hard to ensure that the majority of her attacks are kills. She comes to practice every day excited to play volleyball and learn from us. We are looking forward to continuing to help Heather truly become unstoppable.
Keep up the good work and continue leading by example!
18-1's: Katie Christensen
Katie has been our go to hitter this season and she has done a great job terminating balls set her way. She has a very good jump serve and gets teams out of system most of the time. She has a very good attitude and stays focused on her role. Katie has improved on her ability to hit around the block and we're hoping that she continues to improve her ability to mix up her shots. Katie has a bright future ahead of her in college and we're looking forward to watching her grow as an elite volleyball player.
We appreciate your determination!
JANUARY PLAYER'S OF THE MONTH
13-1's: Katie Loes
Katie Loes gets it done, on and off the court. Considering the amazing progress and development of all the 13's team players, it is really tough to pick one person over any other. We chose to recognize Katie for several reasons. First, she has really embodied all the things Wicked Moose is about - hustle, teamwork, a positive attitude and striving to be the best player you can. Katie has gone from playing middle school volleyball to becoming a starting setter we can rely upon. She really moves to get to every ball, and has been a solid, reliable passer on serve receive. She is attentive in practice, learns quickly, and she remembers what she learns. That enables her to be an on-court leader, helping her teammates to remember rotations during matches. Finally, off-court she really cheers for her teammates and encourages them to play better.
Thanks for all you do!
Dave and Ashlee
14-1's: Caroline Shermoen
Caroline is one of the best young defensive players I've had the privilege to coach. She has taken in everything that she's been taught this year and put it to use on the court. In order to be a great defensive player, you need to be aggressive and just go get the ball. That is exactly what Caroline does. She is the type of player that will dive to dig a ball near the end line, then pop up and sprint to dive again and dig a coverage ball. She impresses me every practice with her ball control on serve receive and free balls and her ability to dig up hard hit balls, even one's that I hit at her.
I love your fearless play!
Drew
15-1’s: Nikki O’Keefe
Nikki was chosen as our player of the month because she has displayed numerous qualities of an outstanding player. She was injured for the first few weeks of the season with a broken ankle and she displayed leadership while not being able to do much on the court. Her return to the court has played a huge part in the success of our team. She stepped into the setter position for injured setter, Sierra Schubert, two practices before helping lead the 15-1's to a 1st place finish in their pool in their first Northern Lights Power League date. She is very dedicated to becoming a better player while she becomes more knowledgeable of this sport. She goes game speed all the time and has shown great leadership qualities that will only get better.
Thanks for your effort on and off the court!
Scott and Danna
17-1's: Heather Bean
Heather is our choice for player of the month because she has shown great determination and patience in learning our complex offense as a setter. She has improved her communication skills and has become very impressive with her ability to run plays and single up her hitters. Her hard work off the court has been a big reason for her early season success on the court. Heather has a ton of potential and we're looking forward to helping her continue to improve throughout the season.
Great job Heather!
Scott and Jen
18-1's: Mariah Sis
I truly enjoy teaching setters to have fun running an offense and Mariah is a setter that has fun playing all the time. Mariah came from a very simple offense to a complex offense where she has been asked to run up to thirteen different sets, five different free ball plays and design her own plays to run on serve receive. This is a very tough role to have on our team and she has done an exceptional job early in the season. Her ability to communicate to her hitters has improved a ton since the beginning of the season and she will only continue to improve. Mariah is determined to be a great setter in college and there's no doubt that the college she chooses will be lucky to have her.
Keep being a leader!
