With nine years of successful coaching experience at the college, high school and club level, Drew Rongere has gained the respect of his peers and become a well known coach in Minnesota.  He is the director of Wicked Moose Volleyball and is entering his first season as Head Coach at Chisago Lakes High School. During the 2009 high school season, Rongere took the Totino-Grace Eagles from 6th place in the North Suburban Conference the previous year to a 2nd place finish with a conference record of 9-1.


Before taking over at Totino-Grace, Rongere spent four years as the head coach at Anoka-Ramsey Community College.  In July 2005, he took over a program that had zero returning players and produced a record of (2-50) over the three seasons prior to his arrival.  Through recruitment of some of the top NJCAA players in the country and marketing of the program, he turned Anoka-Ramsey Volleyball into one of the premier programs in the NJCAA.


While at the helm, Rongere led the Golden Rams to three consecutive trips to the Minnesota College Athletic Conference Tournament and consecutive NJCAA DIII top ten national rankings.  Rongere was named 2008 MCAC Coach of the Year as he led six players to a third place finish in the MCAC Southern Division and a trip to the MCAC Tournament.  As the 2006 MCAC Coach of the Year, he led the Golden Rams to their best finish in 18 seasons, with a 3rd
place finish in the MCAC Southern Division and a 4th place finish at the MCAC Tournament.


During his four seasons at Anoka-Ramsey, he coached two NJCAA All-Americans, three All-Region XIII players, five All-MCAC players, seven All-MCAC Southern Division performers, and five All-MCAC Tournament selectees.


Prior to taking over at Anoka-Ramsey, Rongere served as a Volunteer Assistant Coach for the Texas State University Women’s Volleyball team during their 2003 and 2004 Southland Conference Championship seasons.  While at Texas State, he was also the Head Women’s Club Volleyball Coach.  Rongere led the Bobcats to a 3rd
place finish in the Southern Women’s Athletic Conference and a trip to the 2005 NIRSA Championships where they finished 23rd with a season record of (36-9).


Rongere began his coaching career at Clarksville High School in Clarksville, Texas where he coached five Red River Valley All-Conference players and compiled a record of (51-13).


He spent 2008 and 2009 coaching for Minnesota Vantage Volleyball Club and Northstar Volleyball Club.  From 2005-2007 he coached for Mizuno Minnesota Select Volleyball Club and led two separate teams to top 20 finishes at national tournaments.


He has been a camp instructor at Texas State University, North Dakota State University, the University of Minnesota, Purdue University and S.P.I.K.E. Performance Camps to name a few.


His playing experience includes three years on the North Dakota State University Men’s Club team and one year on the Texas State University Men’s Club team.  While playing libero at Texas State, he helped lead the team to a 21
st place finish at the 2004 NIRSA Championships.


Along with coaching volleyball, Rongere serves as a Personal Trainer at L.A. Fitness.


JESSICA TIMMONS: Director of Business Operations and Strength & Conditioning

Timmons brings several years of experience at the college, high school and club level to Wicked Moose.  She is entering her second season as a coach for Wicked Moose and first season as the Assistant Varsity Coach at Coon Rapids High School.  She spend the 2009 high school season as the 9A Head Coach at Benilde-St. Margaret's.  Prior to coaching at Benilde-St. Margaret's, Timmons helped lead the Anoka-Ramsey Community College Golden Rams to a third straight MCAC appearance as an Assistant Coach.  Before arriving at Anoka-Ramsey, Timmons served as an Assistant Coach at Lawrence University in Appleton, WI.  She has also coached club volleyball for Excel Volleyball Club and Minnesota Knights.

 

Timmons also brings a wealth of experience in strength and conditioning.  She spent several years as a strength and conditioning coach for high school, college and professional athletes while working with several nationally recognized strength and conditioning coaches.

 


 

AMANDA MACKENTHUN

Amanda is entering her first season as a coach for Wicked Moose.  She helped start up the Keewenaw Select Volleyball Club in Houghton, Michigan and coached their 18-1's team.  In 2007 she was the head coach for High Voltage 18-1's.  She has also served as a setting and hitting instructor.

Mackenthun attended Michigan Tech University where she received her B.S. in Business Administration (Marketing) with a minor in Psychology and played collegiate volleyball.  She was the starting setter for four years and led her team to a NCAA DII first round Regional win during her senior season.  She attended Mayer Luthern High School from 2000-2003 and received All-State, All-Metro, and All-Conference Volleyball honors.  She also played club volleyball for Northern Lights, M1 and Heartland Select.  Amanda continues to play in adult volleyball leagues and tournaments throughout the metro area.

Mackenthun currently resides in St. Louis Park and is a Manager for the JC Penney Corporation.

 


 

MICHELLE HOCKERSMITH

Hockersmith is entering her first season as a coach for Wicked Moose and first season as Head Coach at Totino-Grace High School.
She spent the previous two seasons as the JV coach and led her team to a 18-2 record in the North Suburban Conference during that span.


For the past five years, she has been serving as a skills coach and instructor at multiple youth camps and clubs in the state of Minnesota.
Hockersmith played collegiate volleyball at Bethel University as a Right Side Hitter/Setter and she continues to play competitive league volleyball.

 


 

KRAIG O'ROURKE


Kraig is entering his first season as a coach for Wicked Moose.  He has seven years of experience coaching club volleyball and served as a head coach for Minnesota Premier Volleyball Club for the past six years.  His playing experience includes adult NCRUSAV leagues and tournaments. 

Kraig received an ALA in English/Technical Writing from the University of Minnesota and a B.A. in Management Information Systems from Metropolitan State.  He currently works as a Principal Information Technology Specialist for Hennepin County.


AUSTIA JOHNSON

Austia is entering her second season as a coach for Wicked Moose and her first season as the 9th grade coach at Chisago Lakes High School.  She brings many years of high level playing experience to Wicked Moose.  She played four years of varsity volleyball for Lake of the Woods where she played midle hitter and helped lead her team to two Minnesota State Tournament appearances.  They finished 2nd her senior year and she was named to the Minnesota High School Volleyball All-State Team.  She went on to play volleyball for Minnesota State University-Moorhead before transferring to the University of Minnesota to complete her B.S. in Child Psychology.

Johnson also has several years of club coaching experience and she enjoys using her experience and knowledge of the game to help players reach a high level of success.


JEN SHEEDY

Jen is entering her second season as a coach for Wicked Moose.  A graduate of the University of Portland in Oregon, Sheedy played Division I volleyball for the Pilots. She started all four years as a middle hitter and racked up over 1,000 kills as a Pilot. She left her mark in the record books in over 10 categories at Portland including kills, attack percentage, and blocks. 

She attended Totino-Grace High School from 2001-2005, where she played volleyball and basketball. She helped lead her team to the Minnesota State Tournament for basketball in 2001 and volleyball in 2002. She earned All-State, All-Metro, All-Conference, Sports Jam All-Area, and Team MVP & Captain honors in both sports. She played club volleyball with Minnesota One (M1) Volleyball Club for four years and helped lead her team to a 3rd place national finish in the open division in 2002.  Sheedy brings a youthful but experienced coaching style to the Wicked Moose Volleyball program. 

She is coaching at Totino-Grace High School this fall and is looking forward to another successful season coaching for Wicked Moose.


SCOTT NOVAK

Novak is entering his second season as a coach for Wicked Moose.  in 2009, Novak led the Totino-Grace High School 9A team to a first place finish in the North Suburban Conference in his first season as head coach.  He spent the previous four years as an assistant coach at Anoka-Ramsey Community College.  He played an integral role in the success of the Golden Rams volleyball program as he helped lead the Golden Rams to three straight MCAC State Tournament appearances. His duties included the following: coaching setters and defensive specialists, running drills and keeping stats.  Novak also helped lead the Minnesota Vantage 16-1’s team to a 21st place finish at the 2009 Northern Lights National Qualifier.

Novak has played in adult men's volleyball leagues and tournaments in Minnesota throughout the past five years.


DANNA ANDERSON

Danna is entering her second season as a coach for Wicked Moose and her first season as the JV coach at Chisago Lakes High School.  Danna has been playing volleyball since she was eleven years old. She graduated from Wrenshall High School in 2007 where she played volleyball on the varsity team for four years. During her high school career of volleyball she was awarded with MVP, best offensive player, and also selected for polar league all conference and polar league all star. After graduation she attended Hibbing Community College for where she played volleyball and received her associates degree. She started as middle hitter her freshman year and led her team to the MCAC State Tournament where they lost to Rochester for a spot to go to regionals.

In high school she also played basketball and softball. She started as center/forward her sophomore, junior, and senior year for basketball.  She was caption my junior and senior, recieved all conference honorable mention, and was also selected for the polar league all star game. She went on to play basketball for Hibbing and started center/forward her freshman year as well. She started on the varsity softball team as an 8th grader.  She played left feild and and eventually grew to be the starting pitcher during her junior and senior year. She was selected as captain, MVP, and all conference. Danna was recruited as starting pitcher at Hibbing, but decided not to play. Being an athletic person it was always hard for her to focus on one sport, but out of all of them, volleyball was her passion. After college volleyball, she played in numerous rec leagues, sand volleyball for 24 hour fitness's team, and served as an assistant coach at Wrenshall High School for the varsity and junior varsity teams. Danna's love for the game of volleyball has surely made her pursue this opportunity to help younger players achieve their goals, as she did.


STEPHANIE O'ROURKE


Stephanie is entering her first season as a coach for Wicked Moose.  She has five years of experience coaching club volleyball, most recently for Minnesota Premier Volleyball Club.  She played collegiate volleyball as a middle hitter for Anoka-Ramsey Community College from 2005-2006 and she helped lead the Golden Rams to their best finish in 18 seasons in 2006, with a 3rd place finish in the MCAC Southern Division and a 4th place finish at the MCAC Tournament.


ASHLEE STACHOWSKI

Ashlee is entering her second season as a coach for Wicked Moose.  She has been playing volleyball since she was 8 years old.  She graduated from Minneapolis Edison in 2005 where she played volleyball on the varsity team all four years. During her high school career, she was awarded many prestiogus awards including captain of the team, best offense player and she was named to the All City Team. Stachowski played junior olympic club volleyball for City of Lakes Volleyball Club in Minneapolis.  She was highly recruited by DII schools, but made a tough decision not to play volleyball in college.

Ashlee also played basketball and ran track at Edison.  She was the captain for both teams and she helped her track team earn two state titles. Ashlee has been a summer volleyball camp instructor and is looking forward to getting involved with volleyball again as a coach for Wicked Moose.  She has a strong passion for volleyball and intends to help players in our club perfect their skills just as her previous coaches did for her.
