Q: What does my competition schedule look like?
A: Our staff will put together a competitive schedule for each of our teams and it may include the Northern Lights Power League, Ralia Power League, Wicked Moose Tournaments, M1 and Ralia Tournaments, Presidents’ Day Festival, NCR Qualifier, Northern Lights Qualifier, Rochester Cup, Wisconsin Dells Prep Bowl and other local tournaments.
Q: How many teams will Wicked Moose have?
A: We will have 5-6 teams our first year and will continue to grow each year, however we will not be able to determine the exact number of teams we will have until we see what the numbers are like at tryouts.
Q: How much does it cost to play for Wicked Moose?
A: Our 2009-20010 pricing structure can be found in our club fees link under club information.
Q: Who will be my coach? Do you know who will be coaching what team?
A: Information on our current coaches can be found on our coaching staff link. We want to provide our players with quality coaches and we will continue to search for top coaches in the area to join our club.We want to discourage players from coming to Wicked Moose solely for the purpose of playing for an individual coach. We want our players to believe in our system and our entire coaching staff, as players will work with several coaches throughout the season and will have many different coaches throughout their career.
Q: When are practices? How often do Wicked Moose teams practice?
A: We will have 2-3 practices a week. Each practice will be 2-2.5 hours long and players will work on general skills, position specific skills and team skills. They will also engage in speed, agility and core training. Practice dates and times will be available following tryouts.
Q: Can my daughter play school sports, such as basketball or softball and still play for Wicked Moose?
A: Yes, any athlete can participate in school athletics or other activities while playing for Wicked Moose. The athlete will not be penalized for missing practice, however playing time is usually determined by practice performance. Wicked Moose is extremely proud to have multi-sport athletes in our program.
Q: What is Wicked Moose’s policy on parent involvement? Are parents asked to volunteer their time?
A: Wicked Moose prides itself on our relationship with our parents. We have an open door policy with our parents and encourage our parents to communicate with our staff. The open door policy does not apply during tournaments and practices – we’ve learned from experience that a neutral time is the best for staff/parent discussions. We encourage parents to support their daughter and the athletes on her team. We do ask one parent from each team to volunteer to be the team representative. For more information on this, contact Drew Rongere.
Q: What is your philosophy on playing time?
A: At Wicked Moose we believe playing time is earned, not assumed. Each athlete at Wicked Moose is guaranteed quality coaching, practice time and training. Playing time is determined by the coach based on the following criteria: practice, attitude, game performance and skill. Every player has the opportunity to prove themselves at practice.
*We encourage playing time and related issues to be resolved between player and coach. Our line of communication will be handed out to parents and players at the club-wide meeting the week following tryouts.*
Q: When and where are the tryouts?
A: Tryouts will be held at the Wicked Moose Training Center. More information on tryouts can be found on our tryouts page.
Q: I cannot make a tryout date. What should I do?
A: If you know you cannot make a tryout or missed a tryout, it’s possible an alternate tryout can be scheduled. Please note - After the final tryout there is a possibility that there are limited or no opportunities to make a team in our program!
Please contact Drew Rongere at (763) 458-1195 if you would like to discuss the possibility of scheduling an alternate tryout date.
Q: I don't know what age group my daughter should tryout for. How is that determined?

Q: Is there a fee for the tryouts? What do we need to bring?
A: There will not be a fee for tryouts. Athletes are encouraged to bring non-marking rubber soled shoes, athletic clothing (spandex recommended), water bottle and a towel.
Q: What will I be doing at the tryouts?
A: Wicked Moose tryouts are broken up into three phases. First, we do a series of physical tests to reach, block touch and approach touch. Second, we run the athletes thru a series of drill
s for skills evaluation by the coaching staff. These drills are similar to the drills an athlete would see in practice. Third, the athletes are placed in game simulation drills to evaluate their team leadership, court awareness and overall game play.
Q: How does Wicked Moose select players? What are you looking for in a potential player?
A: Wicked Moose looks primarily at three characteristics when choosing players.
1. Is the athlete coachable/accountable?
2. Does the athlete have a positive attitude?
3. Does the player have athleticism?
Q: When will I know if I made a team?
Q: I was selected to a team; what do I do now? When is the Parents' Night Meeting?
A: The date and time for Parent Night will be announced at tryouts by your coach. Each player needs to attend the parent meeting with at least ONE parent. gt;
