17-1's Celebrate After Taking 3rd Place.
The Wicked Moose 17-1's went to the Wisconsin Dells Tournament this past weekend hoping to do well as they continue to prepare for their trip to the AAU National Tournament in Orlando, FL in a couple weeks. After losing two close three set matches on the first day, they knew they had to play outstanding volleyball the remainder of the tournament in order to get to the gold bracket. A good night sleep and mentally preparing to play the next morning paid off as they played tough all day and made it to the gold bracket.
The Moose defeated Wisconsin Volleyball Academy 17-1's to advance to the semi-finals of the gold bracket where they would face Club Fusion 17-Black. Fusion, a team full of players heading to play DI and DII volleyball, was a huge challenge for Wicked Moose. The Moose played very well in the first set, scoring 16 points, but couldn't find a way to shut down the big hitters from Fusion. Wicked Moose 17-1's lost 0-2 to Fusion 17-Black to take 3rd place overall.
Taking 3rd place in a tournament like this is outstanding for a first year club. The players on Wicked Moose 17-1's have had a great season and are looking forward to having fun and playing great volleyball in Orlando.
