14-1's Getting Ready to Play at the Rochester Cup Festival.

The Wicked Moose 14-1's had a great weekend at the Rochester Cup Festival.  They defeated Capital 13 Air-White and Mizuno M1 14-White each in two sets before facing a tough Marshall 14-1's team that was seeded 3rd in the tournament.  Marshall was the toughest opponent the Moose had been up against all season and their strong hitters were too much as they handed Wicked Moose their first loss of the tournament.  The 14-1's finished 2nd in their pool to move to the upper half of the field.

They played Chaska 13-1's in the second round of pool play and lost a close match (20-25, 27-25, 14-16).  M1 14-1 was their final opponent of day one and the Moose played very tough against them, but lost another close one (23-25, 20-25).  The next morning, they defeated JCC 13-Blue to take 3rd in their pool and make it into the Division II bracket.

They played Eden Prairie 14-1's in the first round of bracket play, a team that played in the 16's division of the Northern Lights power league.  The Moose knew that they would have to play their best volleyball of the season to move on and they gave it their best.  The 14-1's had six missed serves in the first set as they lost 20-25.  They got out to a 6-1 lead in the second set and didn't look back as they tied up the match with a 25-17 second set win.  The Moose had a few unforced errors to open up the third set and got down early 2-5, but they battled back to close the gap at 9-10.  They traded points with the Eagles of Eden Prairie at the end of the set and had a chance to win the match, but lost the third set in a thriller, 13-15.

The Wicked Moose 14-1's play this Saturday, May 15th, in a tournament at Ralia Sports Center.
